Lance:
Upon turning 60 years old I realized that something was missing in my life; mainly a dedicated commitment to long term health. I had been working out intermittently all my life but after three or four months at the gym, I would eventually get bored with the routine and ultimately quit going. I recognized a need to change something which ultimately led to joining NWPT and acquiring Bob Hoffman as my personal trainer. I had known Bob for over ten years in our professional careers and knew his skills were exactly what I needed on my journey to routine exercise and a more healthful lifestyle. When Bob asked me to define my goals, beyond the normal weight loss and increasing flexibility goals, I realized what I was after was more philosophical in nature. Mainly, I wanted to turn my 60’s into my 50’s; turn my 70’s into my 60’s; in short, try to make me feel younger than I actually am. This seemed like a challenging goal. After 18 months of working out 2 times a week under Bob’s watchful eye and encouragement I can firmly say, THIS IS AN ACHIEVABLE GOAL. I have not felt this good on a day-to-day basis in decades. The magnificent administrative staff and trainers at NWPT have changed my life and allowed me the opportunity to invest in my long-term health. And yes, the more measurable goals are also being met by losing 25 pounds and becoming more flexible and stronger with Bob’s workouts. The demanding and ever-changing workouts designed by Bob are quite fun. They are NOT boring! Many thanks to NWPT and Bob Hoffman for being such a vital part of my life journey now. Although, I still do relish the day when I do not have such a full-body denial of the spoken word “BURPEE”.
Heidi:
I have been somewhat active my whole adult life—day hikes, camping, boating, walking the dogs, and playing with the kids. Then, somewhere along the way, the kids grew up and I gained significant weight. The occasional workouts no longer kept me fit. The weight gain really registered when I saw a photo of myself in the fall of 2019. Yikes! I joined a local gym and had limited success—my own exercise routines varied in length and intensity. Other than wanting to lose weight, I didn’t really know how to pursue fitness goals.
Then, in early 2021, I was able to join my husband in his NWPT training sessions with Bob Hoffman. Bob is an excellent trainer who pushes us to new limits. I can do exercises and movements now that a year ago I thought were impossible. One of my proudest accomplishments was completing the 140-mile Mt. Hood loop last summer. With NWPT’s training, I was able to hike with confidence and strength. I have never felt stronger! And, while I would like to lose more weight and get even stronger, I am loving how I feel right now. Having Bob as our personal trainer is one of the best decisions we’ve made. We are investing in our health.
