I came to NWPT over 14 months ago after I decided I needed to put my health and well-being first. I’ve always been the self-sacrificing type, so making myself a priority was new territory. My initial consultation was with Judith and it was great! I could tell right away she wasn’t just trying to sell me a membership like other gyms. Being a part of NWPT and working out with Judith (and Cody, Alex, Rob and Kristin) has been the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. I leave each session feeling like I got my butt kicked – I ask for it, though – and happily high on endorphins! My favorite thing to say to Judith on Thursdays is “Let’s kill my arms!” I seriously love every minute of it. I’ve also learned so much about healthy ways of living. The trainers are here for you on every level – nutrition, tailor-made workouts, advice for better sleep, etc. They go above and beyond. And I can’t say enough about Judith. She’s been so good to me. She pushes me when I need it, helps me set goals, she helps me get to the goals, and she even mother’s me every once in a while haha! The past 5 months have been incredibly hard for me. I lost my father in May and it shook my entire foundation. Not knowing how to really cope, I decided I would honor him by going on hikes and taking him with me in spirit and in photograph. Where I come from high places are sacred, so I tried to get to as many high places as I could over the Summer and into the Fall. My first hike was Father’s day and my last hike was Oct. 13. I went on 17 hikes for a total of 133 miles, and Judith was with me for two of those hikes. When I told her what I wanted to do, she immediately added the hikes to my overall training plan and gave me nutrition and other advice. I’ve always been athletic, but I can honestly say I am stronger and in better shape now than I’ve ever been – better than in my 20’s by far! Next up for me: winter hikes/snowshoeing, I’m going to run a 25k trail run, and I’m going to keep getting stronger. I want so see more of my muscles because muscles are sexy!! NWPT has truly been a saving grace, and so has my trainer, Judith. I’m a different person than I was 14 months ago, and I’m going to keep on working on a better me – with Judith’s help, of course!
