I first came to NWPT in 2006 at the age of 42 at the suggestion of my wife. Up to then, my efforts at fitness consisted of periodic efforts of dedicated running, usually focused on training for a race. Despite my sincere intentions to continue my running after a race I would inevitably lose my enthusiasm after the event and “take a few days off”. The days off always turned into weeks and months and suddenly I would realize I hadn’t run in a year. NWPT has been great for me. It has helped me shift my focus, bring balance to my fitness efforts, and develop a consistent and more dedicated approach to fitness. I usually work out with Ted twice a week and add hiking, running, cycling or golf on two other days a week. While I still have ups and downs in my fitness efforts the downs never last more than a week or two. I believe the trainers at NWPT are fantastic; they are knowledgeable and well trained and coach their clients in friendly and positive ways. Ted challenged me to establish strength and fitness goals well beyond what I felt comfortable with and then helped me achieve them with a well-reasoned program. Beyond helping me become more consistent and balanced in my approach to fitness, I thoroughly enjoy the people I meet through NWPT. I feel a sense of camaraderie with the NWPT staff and clients and truly enjoy my time there every week. |
