I started doing personal training at NWPT in July 2023 with my trainer, Sophie. After working long hours at a desk for a few years, I realized it was starting to take a major toll on my health. I have always had some chronic health issues, but when I got some bloodwork done with my new doctor, I was shocked to see that I had borderline high cholesterol. I knew I needed a change at this point and that diet alone just wasn’t really cutting it for me.
When I decided to start personal training, I was nervous. I knew I was really out of shape, and was scared of being pushed too hard right out the gate and having a bad experience. However, when I met with Sophie for an evaluation, she was immediately attentive to my concerns and incredibly kind to me, and I signed up with a focus on improving my overall fitness and strength.
I found out quickly that when you walk into the doors of NWPT, everyone there sees you as a part of their family. You are enthusiastically greeted by the front desk (in my personal experience, usually Sylvia, who makes me feel SO welcome the second I walk in), other trainers will say hi to you, and the facility is incredibly clean and organized. It just feels like people actually care about you.
Training with Sophie for the past few months has been really rewarding for me. She is so easy to talk to, and is the type of person who will remember the small details you tell her and ask you about them next time she sees you. She helps so much to keep me accountable and also to push me just a little bit further whenever I need it, so I feel like I am constantly improving.
My health has improved drastically (no more bad cholesterol!) since I started, and I have been making really great progress in my overall strength. I know for a fact I would not be where I am right now if not for training with Sophie! I am so happy and grateful that I found NWPT.
