Looking back, I don’t think I have gone more than a few weeks without working out since I was 18. But, until joining NWPT, I haven’t been this strong and fit this consistently. I’m a full-time working mom and wife and I work out for lots of reasons: to keep up with my 10 year old son and my husband; to control stress; to sleep well; to get everything done and still have some energy left over at the end of the day; and so I can do more exciting things like kayak down the Yukon River or XC ski, hike and climb in the Cascades. The balance of classes and the variety is perfect for me: I just show up and don’t have to think too hard about making sure my training targets strength, cardio, balance and flexibility. The support and camaraderie are amazing-I even ran my first ½ marathon last October, something I never thought I would do. I can always depend on Lacy to make me use heavier weights and do more reps; on Trevor to keep me motivated during rowing and cycling (no easy feat week after week); and Leah to work her special magic with exercises that seem easy until suddenly they feel practically impossible.
