Two years ago I was sick and tired – literally. An autoimmune disease had me down. I’d gained 25 pounds in the four years since getting sick. I took naps every day to beat fatigue from my illness. And was having trouble keeping up with my two young boys. My doctor told me to get lots of rest and go for walks. It didn’t help. I walked into NWPT one day and decided it was worth a try. I swapped lunch meetings for a noon workout. And it has changed my life! My workouts feel like a kid heading to recess. I was in bad shape when I started. Huffing and puffing just to jog around the block. But I desperately wanted to get healthy. Within eight weeks I had lost nearly 15 pounds. And I was able to cut my medication in half. Three years later I am still at it! My rheumatoid arthritis symptoms are almost completely gone. I have all the energy in the world. And I have no problem chasing my boys up a trail or up a tree! My clothing size went from a size 10 two years ago to a size 2 today. In the last two years, I have completed two half-marathons, two duathlons, a triathlon, the Hood-to-Coast relay and back-packed to the bottom of the Grand Canyon (and back up). I have more energy at work and am a more productive at everything I do. I now run, exercise and eat right for the joy of it. Thanks to Northwest Personal Training, fitness is no longer a chore or a doctor’s prescription. Staying healthy has become a celebration of the gift of life and the miracle of every new day. |
