I’m a mom of 4 adult “kids” and a grandmother of 4. Having lost 50+ pounds 3 years ago I was thinking about getting into the gym to work on my physical fitness as part of my health journey. While playing in a women’s golf tournament I was the lucky winner of a sponsor’s gift. That sponsor was Northwest Personal Trainers; I won 6 weeks of access to their facilities and trainers. This began my relationship with Molly, my personal trainer. Working with her, we discussed my Fitness Goals; Molly recommended I try the Strength Yoga class Derek leads (61 years old, I’d NEVER Done ANY Yoga), I tried it and liked it. I continued my Training and Yoga sessions after my introductory period was over as I’m extremely satisfied with the personal improvements.
In April I had the misfortune of a serious, 10 foot fall from a ladder, putting me in the hospital for 5 days with many injuries, 11 fractures; 7 of which were pelvic fractures, and class 2 and 3 muscle tears. I was released to home for 2 months of total bed rest. The doctors originally predicted (based on “someone” of your age) 6 months of bed rest and rehab before returning to normal daily activities. Much to the doctor’s surprise I was back training with Molly and Derek within two and a half months of my injury.
Molly and Derek’s expertise and encouragement was of great assistance to regain and surpass my previous physical strength and endurance.
My goal is to stay in shape; continue to golf, downhill ski, hike, backpack, camp and climb mountains with the family for many years to come. I’m ever grateful to Northwest Personal Trainers for their part in my personal physical health.
