You Know Your Body Better Than Anyone

Spread the love

We live in an era of endless health advice. One expert says high protein is the key. Then others warn against too much protein. Some swear by intermittent fasting, others say breakfast is essential. You hear conflicting information about fasted workouts, eating before working out, heavy lifting, Zone 2 cardio, HIIT…the list goes on. The noise can be overwhelming and confusing, but you know your body better than anyone.

Here’s the truth:
there is no single best approach for everyone.

We are all beautifully different. Some people are allergic to nuts, while others eat them daily with no issues. Some break out in hives around cats, while others happily live with multiple cats. This same principle applies to nutrition and exercise.

What Works for Them May Not Work for You

Protein Intake

You may thrive on higher protein and feel stronger and more satisfied. Others may feel sluggish or experience digestive discomfort with very high protein.

Meal Timing

Some of you feel your best with regular, balanced meals throughout the day. Others achieve great energy and focus with intermittent fasting.

Fasted Workouts

Some feel energized training on an empty stomach. Others need a snack beforehand to feel strong and focused.

Morning Eating

Some need food right after waking to stabilize energy and mood. Others naturally aren’t hungry for a few hours and do better waiting.

Strength Training Load

Some love heavy lifting and feel great doing it. Others feel joint strain and respond better to lighter weights with higher reps.

Cardio Style

Some enjoy long, slow Zone 2 cardio and find it meditative. Others find it boring, inefficient, and prefer shorter, more intense sessions.

High-intensity Training

Some thrive on sprint intervals and feel empowered by them. Others dread them, which negatively affects consistency.

Workout Style

Some love Yoga, Barre, or Pilates. Others light up in CrossFit or bootcamp-style classes.

Rep Ranges

Some prefer low reps and heavy loads. Others prefer higher reps and a steady burn.

Program Structure

Some love full-body workouts. Others prefer splitting upper and lower body days.

The key message: There are many paths to optimal health. If any coach, influencer, or professional claims there is only one way, know that this is just not accurate.

Even scientific studies report averages and generalizations. There are always outliers who respond differently. You are not a statistic, you are an individual.

So experiment. Pay attention. Notice how you feel, how you recover, how your energy and mood respond. Adjust as needed. Your trainer can help you with this!

You know your body better than anyone. Trust it. Listen to it. And don’t let anyone tell you differently.
